Do you ever find yourself frustrated because you didn’t do something that you were supposed to?  To complete your goals it is imperative that you stay accountable and these are just some tips that helped me with my goals!

1. Actually have goals.

Many people have a loose idea of what they want to get done but you need to have a specific goal in mind. Do what, how much, by when, etc. Try to get as much detail as possible.

 

2. Write it downpencil-paper

Science has found that writing things down helps us remember them better. Overall it just makes it more “real”. Although typing is better than nothing I still recomend writing it on paper

 

3. Make it a habit

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit” This famous quote by Aristotle is a good observation on human nature. Most of what we do is a habit, doing something new is actually very hard. Basic neuroscience says that our neurons build on what we do and thus are easier to do. So just repeatedly do something over a period of a time to make it a habit and it will take no effort before you know it since its become a habit.

 

 

Those are just some small tips that has helped me out. There are plenty of ways to keep yourself accountable and not one way works for everyone so I suggest you try these tips out for your goals and experiment!
